Top Five Live Bands

Number Four - Rage Against The Machine

I’m sure you all remember the campaign  back in 2009 to get Rage to top the UK’s Christmas chart. Well it worked and to say thank you, the guys reformed and put on a free show in London. I was one of the lucky 60,000 Rage fans that managed to get a ticket.

After seen three incredible support acts (Gallows, Roots Manuva and Goglo Bordello) I was pumped up and ready to go crazy for Rage. After a little wait, a cartoon started on the big screens. It was a cartoon of Simon Cowell introducing the band where he claims “I wish so, I could have managed their money. Did I say money? I meant career, my bad.” A giant back drop of the red star raised up while sirens filled the park. On came the band and started straight away with Testify.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, they played a cover of White Riot by The Clash as a tribute to the legendary Joe Strummer.  I went nuts! singing every word as loud as possible, it wasn’t long before I lost my voice. It has to be one of my favourite live music moment of my life.

Check my blog to find out what was number five and keep an eye out for the top three.
